From Technique to Expression

Take your oil painting skills to the next level by learning how to create more balanced, expressive, and fully developed artwork. Students will explore advanced color relationships, value, texture, composition, and technique while learning how to bring depth and harmony into their paintings. Through guided instruction, students will refine their skills and gain the confidence to create artwork with greater intention and individuality.

This course is designed for students who already have a foundation in painting and want to grow beyond the basics. If you’re ready to strengthen your technique, understand how artists create depth and emotion, and develop your own style through oil painting, this course is the next step in your artistic journey.
Students will work on thoughtfully composed oil paintings while learning how to use color, texture, and contrast to create depth, balance, and visual impact. Each project will focus on developing a stronger understanding of artistic choices and building the skills needed to create more polished, professional-looking work.

Ciporah Jacobs

Ciporah is a multidisciplinary artist and educator specializing in classical oil paintings, and known for her lifelike portraits and detailed realistic work. She empowers her students to grow from entry level to professional artists in a warm and uplifting atmosphere. Ciporah's students learn to master oil painting with a focus on strong fundamentals and proper technique, while also being encouraged to explore other mediums like clay, ink and parchment etc. to find their own voice. When she isn't teaching, Ciporah creates custom commissions for private clients.
